How exciting!

Even though I have previously set Elli's "official" walking date... Tonight she has blown us out of the water with her walking efforts... She just decided to get going. First she walked from my desk to Adam's desk AROUND the furniture, not touching it though! She had a poopies nappy (as you do) so we went for a walk to her room to change it... and she WALKED there by herself while I merely followed (dragging my jaw along with me). We changed her bum then she decided to walk into the lounge room so we turned the Christmas lights on. She walked back to the computer room and got Adam to follow her to the Christmas tree to show him the lights... She WALKED the whole way... Right now, she's playing games with her Dad.. and boy howdy she's working up a sweat... that's how hard she's trying... (Good girl darlin'! Mummy's super proud of you!)

I tell you... This is what it's all about... LIFE and having children... All the ups and downs until this point have been soooo worth it to make it to this day where I can see my own flesh and blood amaze me so much that this feeling I have inside makes me want to burst with love, pride and joy. I know Adam feels the same way.

My advice to you... HAVE A BABY and BE AMAZED and filled so full with love that you will almost burst. It's like NO other feeling you will ever experience... I will be so bold as to say it's better than falling in love...

So now she's talking... Well... I guess we'd call it babbling... But in Elli's world, it's talking... She is sooo smart... Learning is so big for her right now. Playing with Elli is the MOST fun. She especially loves peek-a-boo games and hide and seek around the lounge... She squeals with delight when she can hear you coming... It must be so exhilarating and wonderful learning for the first time... I wish I could remember those times in my life.

Elli is offically walking. She practices all day every day all by herself. She still gets around here and there on the furniture for support, but she lets go and walks significant distances... and this is all of her own doing. It's just so exciting! Elli did walking on the 4th of November from Adam to me and back again and again and again... But I am going to set her "official" walking date at December 1st, becasue that's the first time she walked a significant distance without being provoked and letting go byherself. I think she has finally figured out that walking is quicker than crawling.

Here are a few other interesting dates/mile stones...

December 2nd: Climbed on and off the couch (her own idea) without stacking it! (However my motherly heart was thumping... It took a lot of energy to watch her and not stop her...)

December 4th: Went to bed and sleep WITHOUT a dummy.... You know you're baby is growing up when they decide for themselves that they don't need a dummy any more.

Another wonderfu thing... I think the whole "wind" thing is starting to take a hike(touch wood)! And about time might I add... Elli is a wonderful baby, very well behaved... But on those nights of wind and tummy aches... YIKES!!! Nasty!

Tonight we put or Christmas tree up and Elli was facinated by the lights. We're going to take her for a walk down Power Street. All the rich bitches have nice lights happening.. I think she will really flip out... In a good way though... hehehe

Anyway... Christmas is just arounf the corner so there is sure to be another few blogs entries and some cute as piccis...

Recently we celebrated Ellianah's very first birthday. The 19th of November to be exact. We had a rather large party in the park on the Saturday (18.22.06) where we partied (kiddie style) with our close friends and framily. It was a fancy dress party so when you look at the pics, you'll notice some funny looking people... hehehe...

We had soooo much food, and while I'm on the topic, I should give a big shout out and thank you to all those wonderful women in my life who helped me in my hours of need by making food to share. I love you very much for that (not to mention the million other reasons you give me).

If you managed to get along to Elli's birthday, I hope you had a good afternoon... Stay tuned for the 13th birthday, the 16th, the 18th, and the BIG one - The 21st! If you were amazed or in aw of my little fairy/monkey at her first birthday, then you will be dazzled by her in the future.

Elli - What can I say? You continue to amaze me and surpise me. Just this morning you picked up my comb and started to try and comb your hair. Obviously all that time you spend watching Mum get ready in the morning has had an affect on your little mouldable mind. I really enjoy your company at the moment because the things you are learning and discovering every day is amazing. You are very smart and clever, so much so that you work most situations out for yourself. I look forward to seeing you develop more and more over the coming years, but promise me you wont grow up to quickly. I know you will be a good girl and behave for Mummy and Daddy. I know you will be kind and gentle to everyone and be considerate of others feelings. Above all else, I know you will make us proud as punch no matter what you do.
